GRACE did…

My friend Melissa returned from London tonight.  I was to be her “pick up at the airport and drop off at home” person.  Knowing her flight was arriving at 5:15 pm I waited by my phone for her call to tell me she had landed.  Her text came at 5:21 pm.  I sent a text back letting her know I would leave in 15 minutes (this would allow her to get through customs and get her luggage).  At 5:30 pm I received a text message telling me that I could leave NOW.

So I jumped in the car and headed to the airport.  A few miles from home, I received a text from my honey who happened to be close to the airport and offered to pick Melissa up.  I thought to myself, “That is fantastic!  Especially since I have been a bit under the weather this weekend.” (And then I thought, “Hmmmm…Melissa is supposed to be my ShiFT the World recipient….how to improvise????”

The easy answer was to drive to her house, which was only 15 minutes from where I was at and leave “It” for her.  After I dropped “It” off, I sent her a text saying, “Make sure you check your patio door when you get home. :) “

So…..what was “It”?  I figured since we had a history of wine tasting together (South Beach Wine and Food Festival, Italy etc.) a bottle of wine with a note attached welcoming her home would be fitting. And after traveling since 2:30 am CST what could be more perfect than a glass of wine and a cuddle with her sweet King Charles Cavalier puppy, Leona!
